I am running for Vero Beach City Council to steward the values that make this community a place we love to call home. I recognize the complexity of the role — evolving budgets, diverse constituents, and pressures from growth. With a historical perspective and thoughtful approach to leadership, I am committed to bringing good decision-making to the Council as Vero Beach navigates the challenges and opportunities ahead.
About Davis
I'm a fourth-generation Floridian, born and raised in Indialantic, in a big family with three brothers and two sisters. I attended public school in Brevard County and then St. Edward's School, from which I graduated. I earned a degree in political science from Colorado State University. I entered into a career in teaching, inspired by my mom, a 40-year public school teacher. I taught at the National Cathedral School and went on to earn my MEd from the University of Virginia.
After marrying Pete, a Vero Beach native and also an educator, we were fortunate to teach in schools across the country — Roanoke, VA, Louisville, KY, and Dayton, OH — while raising our two sons. In each community where we have lived, I have gotten involved, whether it was serving on boards such as Artemis, an organization for women who have experienced domestic violence, or volunteering as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for children in the Child Welfare System.

In 2016, Pete, the boys, and I moved home to Vero Beach to be closer to family. We immediately got involved in the community, acquiring a local company and volunteering for local non-profit organizations. Currently, I serve on the Board of the VNA & Hospice Foundation, and support McKee Botanical Garden, The Heritage Center, Youth Sailing Foundation, The Learning Alliance, and Ocean Research Conservation Association (ORCA). In addition, I serve on the Boards of the Surdna Foundation and Andrus on the Hudson, a home for the aging.
Being a part of the Vero Beach City Council will allow me to further my commitment to the community I love.
